What can I expect when I book a session with Cosmic Desi?
Each session begins with a short grounding a moment to arrive together, set intentions, and name what feels most alive for you right now. From there, we set a container: a space where hard truths are welcome, not just the comfortable ones. I lead the reading with intuition and guidance, drawing on your energy, your questions, and the language of Vedic astrology. Sessions run between 45 minutes and an hour. I'd recommend bringing something to take notes with, since this isn't a one-time download it's something you'll return to. We close by naming what you want to sit with and talking through what integration looks like for you, because insight without integration doesn't actually change anything.

Can I combine different types of readings in one session?
There isn’t always a strict yes-or-no answer when choosing a reading.
Birth chart sessions often touch on your broader karmic themes and energetic focus, while energy-focused sessions assume some familiarity with your chart and go deeper into what’s unfolding now.If you’re unsure where to begin, reach out we’ll help you find what feels most aligned for where you are.

Do you offer sliding scale or trade options?
Yes, sliding scale and non-monetary exchange spots are available, especially for folks in the BIPOC community, as part of an ongoing practice of reciprocity and redistribution. Healing and insight shouldn't be limited by access or privilege, and many of the traditions this work draws from have historically been carried by communities who didn't always have full access to them.
Sliding scale isn't something you select at checkout reach out, and we'll figure out together where in that range fits you. As a general guide, spots typically run from around 70% of standard pricing up to the full rate, depending on my capacity at the time. And if even the lower end isn't accessible right now, reach out anyway I hold non-monetary exchange spots too, and I'd rather have that conversation with you than have cost be the reason this work stays out of reach.
For the full picture on how this works, see the Sliding Scale & Access section on the offerings page.

What is Vedic astrology?
Vedic astrology, or Jyotish, is a 5,000-year-old system of celestial wisdom that grows out of the Vedas some of the oldest spiritual texts in the world. It comes from millennia of sky-watching, pattern tracking, and studying how planetary rhythms echo through human life. At its heart, Jyotish isn’t about prediction; it’s about illumination helping us understand cycles, timing, and the deeper energetic currents we’re moving within.
-
What if I’m not sure what I need?
If you’re not sure where to start, I generally recommend a birth chart reading for anyone who hasn’t had a Vedic astrology reading before. It offers a strong foundation for understanding your patterns, timing, and energetic themes.
If you already have a good sense of your chart, a current transit reading can be a great entry point helping you understand what’s active right now and how to move with greater clarity and alignment.
If you’re still unsure, feel free to reach out and we can figure it out together.

Vedic interpretation and how it differs from Western astrology?
Vedic astrology is an ancient system rooted in South Asian tradition. It uses the sidereal zodiac, which aligns with the actual constellations in the sky, and focuses on the karmic and spiritual patterns that shape your path. Jyotish explores karma, dharma, timing, and purpose.

What do you mean by "spiritual strategizing"?
I don't believe we're slaves to what happens in our lives but there are experiences we'll move through regardless, chapters that are coming whether we're ready for them or not. Spiritual strategizing is what I call the practice of seeing those chapters before they arrive, so you're never navigating blind. It's not about predicting your life for you it's about giving you enough insight into what's unfolding that you can gather your resources, build your capacity, and meet it with intention instead of just reacting to it. In the end, we have free will we're always shaping our lived experience, consciously or subconsciously. This work is about doing that more consciously.
-
What's your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Life happens, and I understand people's capacity shifts I try to be as accommodating as I can when that happens. Out of mutual respect for both our time, I ask for at least 48 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel. Reach out as soon as you know, and we'll find a time that works.
-
How do I best prepare for this reading?
You don't need to prepare much beyond yourself. Come with an open mind, and the willingness to be vulnerable this is a space where hard truths are welcome, not just the comfortable ones, and the reading goes deeper when you're willing to meet what actually comes up. I'd also recommend having something to take notes with. The reading is only half of this practice what you do with it after is the other half, and you'll want to be able to return to what surfaced here.
-
Is what I share with you confidential?
Yes, your name and identity are never disclosed, full stop. I don't keep a record of our conversation, and sessions are never recorded it's on you to take notes on anything you want to hold onto, so I'd recommend bringing something to write with. Your birth chart information is deleted from my server once your reading is complete.
I'll be honest about one thing: this work can be heavy, and there are times I lean on my own community to process what comes up in a session. When I do, your name, your identity, and any details that could point back to you never come with it; only the shape of what we moved through, stripped of anything specific enough to trace back to you. What's yours to tell is yours alone to tell.
